Cold Brew for Iced Coffee
Cold Brew for Iced Coffee
Iced coffee is a perfect summer treat, but I refuse to pay $6 for one at a coffee shop unless it's a caffeine emergency. I am here to teach you how to make the BEST iced coffee, in your own home, for very little money. The cold brew process produces a less bitter brew and is perfect for iced coffee. Sometimes it's far too hot in Texas for anything but iced coffee. You're welcome.
What You'll Need:
1/2 pound ground Coffee of your choice
Almond Milk (or your favorite dairy or non dairy milk)
Syrup, flavor of your choice or Stevia or Sugar
What You'll Do:
I use a 2 quart bowl and fill it almost to the top with cold tap water. Add the ground coffee. Stir, cover and let it sit out on your kitchen counter for 24 hours.
Using a mesh strainer lined with paper towels, strain the coffee and water mix into another container. I usually strain it into another bowl before I transfer to a bottle because it's easier. Store in the frig in a pitcher, bottle, or jar. An empty wine bottle or a large Mason jar works well.
Seriously. That's it!
Create your drink with your desired type and amount of sweetener and milk product and lots of ice. An iced coffee bar is a fun addition to a summer party.
